On November 7, 1940, four months after its opening, the central span of the Tacoma Narrows Bridge in Washington collapsed due to wind-induced vibrations. This collapse shook the engineering community and led to significant changes in the approach to aerodynamics and the design of large-span bridges.
On that very day, a relatively unknown engineer donned a special armored suit, making his first appearance as RC-Men, with the goal of safeguarding and protecting individuals involved in civil liabilities. Initially, he focused on professionals, but soon realized that he needed to expand his scope to encompass all cases of civil liability, at all levels and in all sectors.
